Gossip Girl returns on September 13th, and in this interview, Jessica Szohr, who plays the humble and "normal" Vanessa on the show talks about her beauty regimen and playlist. Also, her movie Piranha 3D hjts theaters tomorrow!
What is your beauty regimen?
Jessica: My skin is pretty sensitive, and I travel a lot, so being on flight and there’s all these germs and having makeup when you’re on set all day being reapplied all day long. A lot of times when I’m not at work I like to let my face breath and not put makeup on. I’m big on washing my face at night and using a lot of moisturizer. I try to switch every 3 or 4 months, but I like Dermalogica and Arcona and believe it or not but I saw an infomercial one night and I ordered Meaningful Beauty by Cindy Crawford and that’s a great line as well. I’m big on going to bed with a clean face.
What is your fitness regimen?
Jessica: I enjoy yoga a lot, not even for the workout. I started doing it a couple of years ago and I could see the definition in my arms and my legs when I would do it so I felt like I was getting a good workout. On top of that, it’s so peaceful and good for my mind. I go yoga or sometimes I’ll just go to the gym in my building and put a treadmill on a big incline and walk for an hour while watching TV or reading a script or a book. Ill do that if I don’t have time to make it to a class. I try to balance out what I eat during the week. I’m not the healthiest eater, but I try to watch what I eat during the week. I kind of splurge on the weekends and eat french fries and pizza.
What's on your playlist right now?

China mourned the deaths of more than 1,200 people killed in a mudslide caused by heavy rains last week as storms are forecast to hit China’s southwestern Sichuan basin.
The State Council, China’s Cabinet, and the Ministry of Culture ordered flags lowered to half-staff and all public entertainment suspended today to pay respect to victims of a landslide in Zhouqu County in Gansu province Aug. 8. A total 1,239 people are known to have died and 505 are missing in the northwestern province after the mudslide. A mourning ceremony was held at Zhouqu near the debris at 10 a.m. local time today.
Chinese President Hu Jiantao, former president Jiang Zemin, and eight standing members of the political bureau, the Communist’s Party’s top decision body, joined the nation in lamenting victims this morning in Beijing, the China Central Television reported. Thousands have died in mudslides and floods this year as downpours inundated regions across China.
The death toll in rainstorms that began Aug. 11 in Longnan City of the province rose to 33 with 63 people missing, state- run Xinhua News Agency reported today.
Rainstorms will hit the northern area of the Chongqing municipality, parts of Hubei and Hunan provinces by tomorrow morning, the meteorological center said in an e-mailed statement.

It has been a long time since flight attendant was a glamorous job title. The hours are long. Passengers with feelings of entitlement bump up against new no-frills policies. Babies scream. Security precautions grate but must be enforced. Airlines demand lightning-quick turnarounds, so attendants herd passengers and collect trash with the grim speed of an Indy pit crew. Everyone, it seems, is in a bad mood. On Monday, on the tarmac at Kennedy International Airport, a JetBlue attendant named Steven Slater decided he had had enough, the authorities said.
After a dispute with a passenger who stood to fetch luggage too soon on a full flight just in from Pittsburgh, Mr. Slater, 38 and a career flight attendant, got on the public-address intercom and let loose a string of invective.
Then, the authorities said, he pulled the lever that activates the emergency-evacuation chute and slid down, making a dramatic exit not only from the plane but, one imagines, also from his airline career.
On his way out the door, he paused to grab a beer from the beverage cart. Then he ran to the employee parking lot and drove off, the authorities said.
He was arrested at his home in Belle Harbor, Queens, a few miles from the airport, and charged with felony counts of criminal mischief and reckless endangerment.
“When they hit that emergency chute, it drops down quickly within seconds,” a law enforcement official said. “If someone was on the ground and it came down without warning, someone could be injured or killed.”
In a statement, JetBlue said it was working with the Federal Aviation Administration and the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to investigate the episode. “At no time was the security or safety of our customers or crew members at risk,” the company said.
According to his online profiles, Mr. Slater has been the leader of JetBlue’s uniform redesign committee and a member of the airline’s in-flight values committee. Neighbors in California, where Mr. Slater grew up, said he had recently been caring for his dying mother, a retired flight attendant, and had done the same for his father, a pilot.
