Summer futuristic wedding anyone?

During the Spring 2010 show, Chanel took a futuristic wedding theme that definitely turned some heads. Once everyone saw the futuristic groom and bride walk by, they were completely awestruck by the idea. How much is too much? The Chanel 2010 spring collection proved that there never is 'too much' in the fashion world. One could only imagine none other than Lady Gaga supporting this look. The metallic suit probably would be too much and Lady Gaga would have to have a crazy supportive husband in the future if he would wear this metallic suit.

Women and men alike, probably wouldn't want to walk down the aisle wearing what would be to them a 'ridiculous outfit', but you never know these days. To keep it safe, a simple white Vera Wang would be a more suitable choice.

How to find a makeup look for your wedding day PDF Print E-mail

How to find a makeup look for your wedding dayYou’ve gotten your dress, chosen your shoes and picked the setting, but you’re not sure how to do your makeup. So how do you decide on your look? There are a few ways to go about it and I’ll help you decide how to go about getting it done; whether you’re comfortable doing your own makeup or are a makeup novice.  But do your homework! This is a big day and you want to be well prepared and look your best.

If you’re not sure where to start, decide on whether you want to do your own makeup, or have it done by a professional. If you decide on a professional, scout out an artist at your favorite department store’s makeup counter and tell them that you’re considering having your makeup done by one of its employees. But be careful, not all beauty counter employees are makeup artists. Most are regular woman who either a) have many years experience doing their own makeup or b) were trained in the basics of applying their brands’ makeup by a corporate employee during a training program. If it turns out that there aren’t any makeup artists with bridal makeup experience, ask them to refer you to a professional.

Whether you’re considering a professional or not, prepare by ripping out pages in magazines of makeup looks you like. Bring a few options with you for you and the artist to compare. Even if you’re not the same complexion as the model in the photos, the artist should be able to adapt the look to fit your face. Also, the artist will be able to rule out any looks that she thinks might not be appropriate for a wedding (for whatever reason), or if you’re dead set on the look, make a few alterations to the look to fit you and the situation. Also, when letting her know about the look you’d like to achieve, tell her how you plan on doing your hair, the setting. (Is it a more casual wedding, or 200+ guest affair? Will it be indoor? On the beach? In the winter? On the mountains?) Letting her know these little details will help her figure out which types of products to use (more or less coverage depending on the temperature, more natural makeup if in the daytime, a little more sparkle at night). The more information your have to give, the better.

If you decide not to use a professional try out several different looks on yourself and take pictures of your application in natural light with a high-resolution camera (no iPhone photos). Taking camera phone pictures in the florescent lighting of your kitchen will not give you a realistic rendering of how you will look on your big day. After taking a few photos, go over them with a close friend to see what you think is best. If your application is a little hazy, keep practicing! If you just can’t apply the liquid liner for a cat’s eye because you don’t have a steady hand, recruit a friend to help. If not there are plenty of online tutorials on how to apply just about any makeup look. Check out Michelle Phan, Kandee the Makeup Artist and Lauren Luke. (Also, if you’re doing the look yourself, go easy on the rouge... your day will provide all the blush you need.)
